Striped Gophers
Transcript: Summertime and striped gophers poked their heads out of their holes. Farm boys were great at snaring or drowning them out. Sometimes it was a family effort. Smaller girls would stand over nearby holes so they couldn’t escape. A medium-sized brother could guard one hole with a softball bat, and the boss of the operation poured water down the main hole. Summertime and gophers. Yep, another great memory from DeSmet Farm Mutual Insurance of South Dakota.
